Fine Dining in Mandarin Grill, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong

On the last day in Hong Kong, thinking of what we should do, we stopped at Central Hong Kong station, walking deliberately along the busy street, enjoying the breeze of concrete jungle and accidentally passed by Mandarin Oriental. With no reservations, we tried our luck to dine in Mandarin Oriental. We waited at the lobby while they are setting up the table. It was prepared within 15 minutes. We came to the entrance by elevator and was greeted by a smartly dressed waiter and so he was our appointed attendant. Being introduced of what are their specialties, husband and I ordered our food. I could not recall what was the menu since it was 3 months ago, but I would like to share with you how well decorated the food was. Not only that, the food taste and service are top notch. This is one of the fortuitous dinner I ever had.

Complimentary Appetizer
This is a complimentary appetizer from the chef. Top Left: Caramelize sweet that just pop when you put it in your mouth. Top Right: Well decorated stick bread with dip of dark chocolate. Yummy. Bottom Center: Bird Egg. I can’t recall what is it made off, it is definitely not my type of taste.

 

Appetizer
The first dish. I’m guessing this as scallop.

 

Lobster
The first main dish. I could not recall what this is. I can remember that the meat was fresh, juicy and luscious with taste.

The second main dish: Wagyu beef covered with leave pattern chocolate, served Medium Rare.

Main Course

 

Dessert
The dessert. Top Left is the Taiyo no Tamago Mango from Japan, the flesh looks like ordinary mango, taste was rich. It is noted as World’s Most Expensive Mango. The waiter even brought the actual mango for us to smell before we ate. It was very sweet!
